A Case of Trismus due to a Foreign Body

Abstract

|
A Korean female patient, age 48 years, was admitted to Presbyterian Hospital with a moderate trismus and facial paralysis, caused by impaction of a large fragment of glass through the skin of the posterior side of the ear-lobe to the left medial and lateral pterygoid muscles, following a traffic accident.
After surgical removal of the large fragment of glass the facical paralysis and masticaticnal disturbance completely disappeared.
